Mostly I just want to ask Star's opinion on the shows in pic related, but this can also be a catch-all topic for any other non-Japanese animation.

Recommended watching:
> Adventure Time
nice and lighthearted while also dealing with some complex themes

> Samurai Jack
the overall story isn't particularly special as most episodes could be shuffled around without seeming out-of-order, however the animation is really good and when watched in-order you can see the development of Jack as a character

> Steven Universe
Despite the "CalArts style" accusations, I still find it to be artwork to be quite appealing, and the heavy use of pastel color pallets serves to set it apart from other 'similar' shows. Also, as you get towards the end of season 1, the story really starts to build with each episode. Just be sure to watch it in the original airing order rather than the official revised order which splits up 2 related episodes.

> Regular Show
Good story, funny characters, and a lot of great references. Also, a kick-ass drum solo.

> Gravity Falls
I don't even really know what to say because this is such an all-around great show, except that even though the ending ties everything up nicely I was still sad that it was over because there really isn't much room for a possible continuation without drastically altering the whole premise

> The Boondocks
This is not for kids at all, but I felt that it addresses some really important stuff in a way that was intended to make you uncomfortable enough to think about limited your own perspective might really be. I opted to skip the last season based on some reading on fan forums that the show went drastically downhill since it was produced without any input from the original creator. My only complaint (aside from the lack of uncensored HD versions of S1&2) is that they wasted 3 episodes on the Stinkmeaner character which seem to have no thought-provoking points to be made about them. (It's possible that the first one is about how blacks grow up in a society where whites have a certain expectation of them and with enough exposure to this prejudice they will come to adopt these expectations for themselves, but I really don't know.)

I'm sorry to disappoint you, but I am a terrible casual at this, and by "this" I mean American cartoons.
Literally you can only ask my opinion on SvtFoE, Hotel Transylvania the Series, and Samurai Jack. About TV Series, I mean.
> fosters
> teenage robot
Haven't seen those.
> flapjack
Seen couple of episodes on my local TV LOL xD
It's absolutely adorable and creative, but hey, I really am a casual at this.

> Adventure Time
"Have seen a couple of eps"
Looks pretty cool though sometimes too creative in a sense that the style was too weird.

> Samurai Jack
I've seen all but the last season.
It's creative and rich. A bit too simplistic, in my opinion, but makes up to that in style and action.

> Steven Universe
> Regular Show
> The Boondocks
Doesn't ring a bell LOL.

> Gravity Falls
I'm planning on watching it, it looks like somewhat serious.

It's not a big deal if you haven't seen them, I was just curious since you're the only person I know online who talks about western cartoons (in the tiny microcosm of places that I visit, anyway).

I started Foster's a few days ago and I like it so far. It's nice and whimsical with a good balance of being goofy and childish without making you feel cringe-y afterward. The only downside is that I'm streaming it on a smart TV but it's an SD show so it's being upscaled, which is more noticeable in digital.

You should definitely watch Gravity Falls. Just don't expect it to be too serious. It's serious about the fact that it has a definite story to tell and it doesn't do a lot of filler (if any), but the characters will be goofy and the situations fantastical. But SvtFoE has goofy characters and fantastical situations as well, so nothing you wouldn't be prepared for I don't think.

Powerpuff Girls is also good, but I don't know how you feel about super-hero type stuff.

Aren't you a bit lonely?

They look adorable on posters though.

Yep, I'm like a digital hermit or something it seems. But trying to join larger, more active communities makes me feel like I lose my sense of individuality and become just another regurgitated repost. Occasionally I've tried new communities and gotten a clique-ish vibe which I don't care for either. Maybe I'm too picky?

> They look adorable on posters though.
I can't say I've seen them on posters since the movie came out like 10 years ago, but do you mean the original series or the reboot?

The only thing I don't get is what you want actually.

By posters I mean whatever arts that are made by original designers and artists and could be used as posters LOL

Just finished season 3 of Star. I'm hoping there's more to come, and I guess they kind of left it open for continuation since we don't know where Moon went, but it seems like they pretty much wrapped up all the other main points, so it's hard to know.

Foster's Home was nice and whimsical. Bloo could be obnoxiously narcissistic, but it's understandable (with children's shows) that you have to kind of go overboard to drive home how certain behaviors are not looked upon favorably.

There is indeed more to come, the 4th season was announced forever ago, and will be out in 2019. It's a mystery when exactly, though. Rumors were saying it would be in early 2019, now they say it would be in July or something.
I'm having withdrawal and I hate Disney RN, so fuck'em.

I really enjoyed My Life as a Teenage Robot. Aside from being too short, the only real issue I had was the audio being somewhat muddy. I tried various settings on my sound bar, but I often had to rely on subtitles when certain characters would speak because their vocal tones didn't stand out enough from the bg music and sound effects. The animation style is reminiscent of early Disney shorts, although some of these aspects were apparently dropped between seasons.

@previous
According to wikipedia it's also being moved from Disney XD to main Disney channel. They also did this with Gravity Falls. I don't know what purpose there is in having multiple cable channels if you're going to shuffle stuff back and forth between them. Not that it really matters since we're not actually watching it live, but it's just weird to me business-wise.

OK.
> March 10th
Sweet.
> the last season
Shame.

Seems like the really good ones are always the shorter ones too.
Or maybe they just seem better because they don't run long enough to get stale the way The Simpsons has.
