Topic: How often do you buy manga?

mountainman !4EB6xd.Oos started this discussion 8.2 years ago #502

Do you buy it at all? How much do you have?

I think it is too expensive.

I don't buy manga often; I'm more of an anime guy myself, but that's probably because I can't find any of the good manga (ie. not bleach/naruto/one piece) in any stores, and when I want to read, I want to read, I don't want to wait a couple of weeks and then read.

I am used to buying second hand books for 50c. When I go to the shops and see manga at $15-20 a chapter I am amazed and incensed!

I don't, but I don't really buy much of anything, as I have no money. My friend buys fairly often though. I do have some of my cousin's old Shounen Jump mags in a box in the basement.

What country do you live in? I'd just assumed my library wouldn't have any. Thanks for the idea, I will check!

The us and the uk both have manga in libraries (assuming the libraries are new) and have tons. I have donated all of my manga and the place has almost a total of 600+ manga. It's in the kid's section though.

Sometimes the companies selling them here sell old volumes at very low prices (usually at cons) So I get many volumes at once in these situations.

I never buy any, but thats because I have no money. I would buy a lot more if I could. I want to support the artists I love.

I like collecting, but I have no interest in collecting English translations. I feel like an idiot buying books I can't read though, so I tell myself I will buy some when I can read Japanese.
