Topic: Let's make OtakuTalk's first RP thread! (preparation)

Here I propose the rule set:
1. Player should make a signature so that his character can be identified.
2. Everyone can jump in and out at any time of the game.
3. No dice, no spreadsheet, you type it and it happen.
4. Keep track of significant inventory only; last time tried to keep track everything and it's a hell 'o a mess.

Here's some point need to decide
a. Limitation on player's race and class: allow player to be any creature and it results in furries and over-powered playa.
b. GM take-over inactive character: sometimes player just left for a long time and GM should either left him where he was or temporarily turn him into NPC.
c. Background: Sci-Fi? Fantasy? Medival Age? Modern Yakuza (I like this :3)? Cyber? or else.
d. Who to be GM of coz. I used to held a game, while it did went through ONE mission successfully, soon it turns into a total mess up :P So maybe some other more experienced could take the pos.

Ok drop your idea & suggestion here. And here's my first one:

Ghettho yakuza vampire RPG:
Vampires are around 3 times as strong as a regualr human, therefore they are very often working for various crminal organizations.
They also posses a certain psionic potential, which enables them to perform stun, TK and other attacks.
Because well-prepared weaponery can easily eliminate a vamp they prefer to hide their true natures from everybody but their employers.
What do you think?

I think vampires who had to hide their secret would work for a criminal organization as hitmen and similar jobs because it would allow them to feed and use their superior physical powers. It would also allow them to keep their standards of living high. Government and religious organizations would be their main enemies. Alternatively, governments would be their allies and may even employ vampires.

Yokai can be pretty much anything (like darkstalkers)
or
Humans with superpowers: mages, cyborgs, super martial artists (hadouken), Ninjas...
Humans with a lot of weapons and skills like Snake, Bulleta, Sousuke (From Full Metal Panic)...

Things that might be abused and demand caution.
Mages: ZOMG NOW UR FROG! I WIN!
Vampires: See Alucard (from Hellsing)
Ninjas: Naruto like ninjas (mages with martial arts and shurikens)
Comical characters with abusive amount of power like Guu, Arale, Photon, etc...

On here, so we can have human with super-nature power, just nothing too overwhelmed.
I'd say anything with a human form is acceptable, so we can have no "furry dragon with big belly". But one player in my prev game was played as a magical mouse and things just went well so I dunno :/

We still haven't decide on what kind of story to play on tho :/

That's quite some indepth question @_@
Racism exists just like real world; with human being (at least they think) the major race, races which are intelligent, non-blood-thristy and more human-like (elf, dwarf, maybe halfling too?) are more accepted by human, while violent-in-nature races (orc, half-beast, vampire if known) are bound to be the target of rock throwing. But there're always some "elites" who are more racist, and some "air-heads" who are less.

So far there's no known monster dictators (aka final boss) to the World, but that doesn't mean there aren't any.

For races' feat & trait, I'd say just based on the general knowledge, like elf are more intelligent type and dwarf are tend to solve problem with axes, vampire are allegic to sunlight, and human cannot fly. But even that can be altered if you want to.

I suggest you jump in, you can make up a reason to be there to make things sound more legit. Otherwise you'd most likely ended up separated from other players for a long time, if not for the rest of the game (from my experience)
